Athina Kokkali is a Marine Scientist with specialization in Integrated Coastal Zone Management and Tourism Planning and Management.
Since 2015 she is a Phd candicate in the National Technical University of Athens, School of Rural and Surveying Engineering about “Participatory planning for the development of water airports in the coastal environment of Greece”.
Her research interests include: Participatory Planning, Marine Spatial Planning, Integrated Coastal Zone Management, Sustainable Tourism Development in Protected Areas and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Since 2011, she holds a position as a research associate at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research.
She has participated in European (MESMA, PEGASO, COCONET, ADRIPLAN, MARISCA) and national projects She has collaborated with institutions of Higher Education in Greece, as well as with private companies as external assistant.
She has contributed in 5 papers in peer-reviewed journals and more than 20 other publications (i.e., conference proceedings, special publications, books, newspaper and magazine articles).
