Irida Maina is a geographer (M.Sc.) and from 2011 works as a research assistant in HCMR.
She has participated in European and National research projects (eg BENTHIS, PERSEUS, STOCKMED, MESMA, ECODISC) and from 2012 she is a PhD student in Department of Marine Sciences (University of the Aegean).
She has research interests in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), spatial analysis, geostatistics, analysis of spatio-temporal patterns, regression modeling (GAM, GLM etc.), GIS-based multi-criteria decision analysis and also in implementation of modeling and spatial analytical methods for the analysis of Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) data and their interaction with biotic and abiotic parameters.
She has contributed in 4 papers in peer-reviewed journals, as well as more than 20 other publications (i.e., conference proceedings, technical reports).
