Maria Sini has a Phd on Marine Ecology.
She specializes on the study of vulnerable species and habitats, with a particular focus on the Mediterranean coralligenous assemblages.
She is an experienced scientific diver, actively involved in the development of non-destructive methodologies through underwater visual assessment.
She has worked in multiple research projects dealing with the sustainable management of living marine resources, the design and efficiency of Marine Protected Areas, the distribution of Mediterranean marine biodiversity, and the ecology of protected / commercially important species.
She has (co)authored 12 scientific papers in international peer-reviewed journals.
