Maria Maniopoulou is a European Policy scientist M.S.c. specializing in Science Communication and Dissemination.

She has worked at the Hellenic Centre for Marine Research as a communication and public relations officer and stakeholder involvement facilitator contributing to governance and policy aspects, at the European Commission in Brussels as EU policy scientist, at the Hellenic Ministry for Foreign Affairs as a project manager at the EU Presidency 2003, at the NGO Religion Science and the Environment as an event coordinator on international environmental symposiums and at the "417" private company as a venue manage, mainly involved in event organizing, public relations, marketing and real estate management.
